Redemption Redux?

Since my last posting I have noticed signs that people are realizing that things have gone much too far. I can only have sympathy for those who are caught between ‘playing the game’ and ‘playing it to win’ and their own better angels. I am thankful I am not in the position of running for anything and being in the public eye for months at a time. I sometimes think I am a good man but I always know I am a flawed man. Why do I expect more from others? In a world that screams for ‘justice’ I prefer mercy and to get it I have to give it. Mercifully this political campaign will be finished soon and the pundits can get down to the serious business of savaging the winner. There are days when a hermitage in the mountains of Portugal looks very good to me.
