And the Bell Tolls….

Modern technology is a two-edged sword. This morning while otherwise quite bored at a mundane staff meeting I received email on my Blackberry telling me that another of my former squadron mates had died; he was 52, just a bit older than me. That brings the total to eight I believe. Three were killed in action, one in an aircraft mishap, one by an armed robber coming out of a restaurant, and three by cancer. All my age or younger. We seem to be passing from bottom up, the youngest have been the first to go. My life was the richer for Jim Halligan’s presence in it, and it is poorer for his passing.
