Lake Placid on the Plains….?

I am old enough, far old enough, to remember the ‘miracle on ice’ when the U.S. hockey team beat the dominant Soviet team representing of course the triumph of good over the ‘godless Communists’. The announcer’s call as the clock ticked down has become a sports legend, “Do you believe in miracles -YES!”

After giving into a moment of sadness yesterday and posting about my ‘prodigals’ one of them called last night and wants to come home for Christmas. I wonder if she read the blog, or a prayer was answered, or if it was just a coincidence? I do know the Latin root for ‘miracle’ means ‘wonder’ so yes, I believe in miracles.
