I was reading about someone who is a bit of a philosopher. If you called him and he was unable to answer his machine would say,
“Hello. This is not an answering machine, it is a questioning machine. Who are you and what do you want?……… Before you respond understand that most people live their whole lives without answering these questions.”
The first part might be flippant without the second part which should cause people to pause; I am sure that was the intent of the message at any rate. I wonder how many people waited impatiently for it to finish, and how many people walked away with something to think about?
Just like a presidential press conference, I have a ‘followup’ for anyone who can answer the first message, “Is what you are worth being and what you want worth having?”
