Three Phone Calls and an Email….

Last Friday, Friday the 13th, was my birthday. It is true that when you get to my age there is not much you want for your birthday or for Christmas. I never believed that when my parents said it, but it is true. Either you have all you want, or need, or both.

On my birthday I heard from several people but most of all I treasured the three phone calls, one from each of my own children, and an email from my Italian bambina who was my first exchange student a couple of years ago.

Now I get what I didn’t realize long ago. I have both all I want and all I need when my children remember. I hope my parents felt the same.
