A Humility To Be Proud Of….

Arrogance.  I was accused of this sin quite recently. I was accused particularly as the person I am and generally as a typical member of my gender. Not surprisingly, the accusation came from a woman, and it came in the context of the role of women in a certain, very old, religious establishment.

Now I will admit that pride is my personal favorite among the seven deadly sins, and it also seems reasonable that being too prideful could conceivably lead to arrogance, especially when viewed by someone of the opposite gender.  So I will confess (probably many times) to overestimating my own worth and being testy about other people’s inability to recognize it but I am left with a question.

Men making blanket statements about women is seen as sexism. When a woman makes a blanket statement about ‘arrogant’ men is it sexism, or simply the truth?
